Black Hole News was founded by Jonathan Newsly who grew up believing that the universe has always been speaking to us and that it is our job to figure out how to listen to it.

He suspected that every story ever told was really just a fragment of that larger signal, caught and half-understood before it could fade back into static. So we started collecting them. Poems, fictions, essays, the strange transmissions people send out into the dark not knowing if anyone is receiving. We publish them because the noise is louder now than it has ever been, and because somewhere in all of it, something is still trying to reach us. Our work is simply to keep listening, and to make sure the signal does not go unanswered.
